    Default Einstein For Everyone

If you're interested in Einstein's theories but can't be arsed about such tedious things as actually getting a physics degree, here's a neat little link I found that presents the theories in an easier to digest way:

    Einstein for Everyone

    EDIT: fixed the link

Link fixed. And I'd just like to add that after ~3 hours of reading this, I've learned more about physics concepts than I've ever learned in a formal educational setting (probably because my major wasn't science-related at all).

Though, not really useful for me but that's a great find. Thanks for sharing. This is a good resource indeed especially for the general population. I think somewhere in basic education there should be a course like this or at least something about the History of Physics. For most developed countries at least in Europe, even regular folks have a basic idea what scientists/physicists do. Most people in the PH, tend to think physics is just up to Newton and maybe Einstein. And even if they know Einstein, they will just think about the Atomic bomb which is not really a correct description for Einstein's work. Even my friends don't really understand what I do or what physics is really all about. Explaining it to them just takes forever, and in doing so, it makes me look like a geek. So most of the time, I just say, "I study things that most people are afraid of. It's not easy but it's fun."

Anyway, great stuff. I'm browsing through the topics and I admit, it's well written and very understandable for everyone at least for people who try. hehe

I see something missing in the list, which I can perhaps add to, but first need to refine/develop my style of delivery if I expect to be at par with the clarity of the explanations presented in that document.

My topic will be "Time Dilation: Why Does it Occur when Traveling Close to the Speed of Light?"

UPDATE: I just realized this topic is covered in the "Spacetime, Tachyons, Twins and Clocks" topic. But I think its still worthwhile to add my very simplistic explanation of why it happens.

for people wanting an entertaining introduction to physics, i would recommend richard feynman. there's a lot of his speeches/classes posted in youtube. i'd also recommend his books such as "surely you're joking mr. feynman" and "what do you care what other people think".

Kudos TS! This is such a great find. I suggest sticking this topic @rodsky because this is such a valuable resource in the Science board.
