Wala'y match ang Phenom II X6 1055T if you're looking for raw performance. Go for the i5-2500 or the i5-2500k if you're into overclocking.

It would be wrong to compare the PIIX6 to the 2500K, maybe the 1055T is comparable to the i7 920 or Q9650..

Get the 2500K, its value is worth twice over the 1055T

Why is it that the 4 core i5 2500K can beat the 6 core Phenom II x6 1055T?

efficiency... not so many applications/games fully utilize quads or six-cores or greater... triple core is still sweetspot for most daily usage.

Even on applications that take advantage of 6cores, AMD is just offering a slower product.. check out the encoding and rendering benchmarks.. It make take AMD 2 more cores to even out with the 2500K so thats technically 4cores vs 8 just to even out.
