Bro,
In the wake of the recent tragedies in japan and considering the roads will already be closed for the Kadaugan Street Party on April 29 - 30, we are having a FUNRUN4JAPAN on April 29 Friday 9PM. Starting point will be at the lapu lapu city hall.
Event Details :
- April 29, 2011 Friday 9PM FUNRUN4JAPAN
- 3k, 6k, 9k Fun Run
- Registration is a DONATION OF ANY AMOUNT. All proceeds will go to the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami victims.
- To register, simply :
1) LIKE the page www.facebook.com/lapulapucity
2) Comment on the wall with your name, address and distance as follows:
"I SUPPORT FUNRUN4JAPAN: name, address, (3k, 6k, 9k)"
Example -

3) Be at Lapu Lapu City Hall on April 29, 2011 8pm and give your donations to the Secretariat located at the lobby.
We have allocated 800 parking spaces for everyone. It is advised to take the new bridge heading towards lapu lapu city and make a right turn heading towards lapu lapu city hall area. From there, you will see all the parking spaces.
Because the Kadaugan Street Party will have launched already, it will be an interesting and fun route for everyone as the free concert will already start playing and the disco mobiles will be on full blast throughout the route.
There will be no singlets (jerseys) given out and no race numbers because we are accepting only donations. We will simply mark runners on the arm with a pentel pen to identify their category. There will, however, be ample supply of water stations and I am working on having snacks for the runners after the event (not yet confirmed). It will be a great evening for the participants as they can enjoy the street party right after. There will be lots of security on hand (PNP, barangay tanods, Air force) for
There will be raffle prizes drawn after the run as follows:

A press con was held yesterday. You may see the following articles:

At the presscon was Dr. Yong Larrazzabal and John Pages to show their support for the event.
This is short notice because the idea just recently popped up. The more participants we have the more we can donate to the Japanese victims. Through your readers / listeners and network, hopefully we can make this a resounding success. Since the Kadaugan Street Party is an annual event, I plan to also make this run an annual charity run.
Thanks,
Harry
