Free Philippines?

I have a question.. i know this is quite a sensitive topic and many will be affected becuse this had been embedded in Philippine culture.

Its true we drove away the spaniards who brought us their religion and culture/traditions. But are we really a free Philippines? I think the spanish colonizers were succesful in colonizing us... in many ways our culture is still hispanic in religious practice and traditions. I believe we drove away spain but not rome who killed many "indios".

We might have drove out the invaders but they still conquered us through religion.

I was talking to one of my best mates who was here last month for 2 weeks holiday, and the topic of religion was inserted in our good ol jolly conversation.. he said to me earnestly, its true many spanish colonies remain poor because THEY left a false religion whose main business is moneymaking even though on the outside it looks like "godly"... instead of helping the people to save money.. they dont, but money is wasted on "sinful drunkeness and idolatry" .. the people of the country is suffering because they are deceived! and mind you he is not religious at all.. he is agnostic yet he can see the reality.

^^... yeah most of the rich countries aren't that religious, that's what I've noticed.

because they rather work on sundays than go to church and pray for uncertainty.

some religious countries are rich.. i mean very.. saudi is an example. and they all pray not only on sundays.. i think everyday when the sun goes down.. so religion can do good although we know isalm is a cruel religion and sad to say its also from rome..

Religion is a weapon! A weapon to control the public through faith.They will make people believe that they are the savior.Bringer of justice,when in reality they are deceiving the population.

I believe that they have realized this back in the days of Jesus Christ.
