Hi Guys,

I need tips on how to buy items from Amazon/Tigerdirect/Newegg.

Have any of you guys bought one from the store mentioned above?

I'm planning on buying a video card which is not sold here in the Phils. I've searched the stores here in Cebu and also Tipid PC. This is the card I'm looking for XFX 6950 1GB XXX Edition (The one with the dual fan).

Also, I've contacted Johnny Air about the shipping.

Honestly lang bai, your better off getting the locally available 6950 2Gb, it would be cheaper and faster at higher resolutions AND warranty wont be an issue, single fan or dual fan barely matters and is not worth all the hassle.

You are on the right track with johnny air though, mahal lang ila shipping iirc morag $50 + 12% eVAT.

Last time i checked the shops here in Cebu they don't have any 6950 1GB. Ok ra masig unsa na lang na brand (non-reference) as long as 1GB. Ang naa sila mga 2GB worth 14k, which is really expensive. I can get it from TPC na lang. Problem is that I don't have the cash right now and I plan on using my cc to pay for it in installment.

Btw, can I buy one in TPC using my credit card?

Ive been ordering from Amazon for many years now. Go to Johnny Air Cargo(lower ground floor in SM near food court, beside BOOK SALE). Ask on what to do, they get your package to you for 7-12 days. Cant help you much now cuz Im busy. Visit them lang.

As of directly, I havent tried and wanna know myself.

Also I agree, buy it here for warranty purposes or find the closest alternative if its not available here.

Naka call naman ko sa Johnny Air and less than 2k ang bayad sa shipping.

Basin diri nlng jud ko palit Cebu. Kung sa manila pa basin sa 15 pa ig sweldo T_T

The price for your item in amazon is $270, thats like 11,880 before any shipping and taxes occur.. you pay about 2,000~3,000 for Johnny Air so that nets you something like 13k ~14k landing cost, and theres no warranty for your item.

Purchase from TPC instead the 2GB version goes for as low as 12,800 and the 1GB is at 11,700.

IMHO, the 2Gb has more value vs the 1Gb.

Im just estimating the videocard's box size and total weight, no way JA is gonna ask under 2,000 for it.. also they no longer exempt the 12% evat, on your item cost.. dunno why that is since we purchased the item out of the country so we should not be paying vat for it.

Actually 1.6k ang shipping. nagpa compute nako sa johnny air. 3lbs ra man ang weight sa item. naa didto sa amazon ang shipping weight. Ang conversion from dollars to pesos ang di ko sure kung 43.35 ba jud basin mo abot na 44. Out of stock pa jud to sa amazon. hehe

Pwede ba i credit card ang sa tpc?

Computed cost nila is not guaranteed, nig abot ana diri imong 1,600 punan pana probably 200-300 more, + 12% of your item cost.

Basin, try to ask those reseller that own a store ambot unsaon pag swipe sa CC ana..
