PLANTATION BAY PHOTO CONTEST

WHO MAY ENTER

Contest is open to all professional photographers as well as ambitious amateurs.

REGISTRATION

• Register by accomplishing the Registration Form and e-mailing it to pr@plantationbay.com. Type in Photo Contest as your subject.

• You may also call (032) 505-9800 local 1027, Mondays to Saturdays, from 8AM to 5PM. Look for Hannah, Paul or James.

MECHANICS

• Camera requirement: DSLR-type / SLR-type.

• Entrants may submit five (5) to ten (10) photos from the following categories:
- Room interior
- Landscape – saltwater lagoons, freshwater pools and other scenic spots
- Mogambo Springs spa
- Activities
- Restaurants
- Open themed dinners
- Families enjoying Plantation Bay
- Romantic settings

• Should a photographer wish to bring in models or props, a list of the persons and equipment must be submitted on or before the shooting date to the Hotel Duty Manager. It is also the responsibility of the photographer to secure a model release form and submit a copy to PLANTATION BAY. The photographer is solely responsible for the said model release, and PLANTATION BAY will not be in any way liable or involved with the agreement between the model and the photographer.

• Submit an original photograph taken capturing a scene in PLANTATION BAY. The photograph must comply with the following requirements:

- Photos should be in full color. Digitally enhanced photos will be accepted as long as there are no heavy manipulations. Judges’ discretion will apply.
- The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photograph is an original work created solely by the entrant and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photograph.
- Obscene, provocative, or otherwise objectionable content will not be considered, and such determination is solely at the discretion of the Judges.
- Entrants may submit five (5) to ten (10) high-resolution photos (at least 300 dpi) in 8R-size print as well as in a CD (JPEG format). Entries must be individually marked with "Plantation Bay Photo Contest" with your name, address, and contact numbers clearly printed or typed on a label.
- All entries immediately become property of PLANTATION BAY RESORT AND SPA. All entrants waive all rights to the photos and give PLANTATION BAY the right to publish same in any medium.
- All entries must be received no later than April 20, 2011.

JUDGING

• Judging will consist of two (2) rounds of evaluation. The judges will choose the best photo per category during the first evaluation, and will chose the best photo overall during the second evaluation.

• Panel of judges include PBRS Managing Director Emmanuel Gonzalez, Board of Directors and the PBRS Management Team. Evaluation is based on the following criteria:
- Originality - 30%
- Ability to evoke a mood - 30%
- Technical quality - 40%

• Decisions of the judges are final.

• Winners will be notified through the contact details they provided. Their names will also be posted in the website for two (2) weeks after the contest period.

AWARDS

Best Photo per Category: P 5,000.00 each category

Best Photo Overall: P 10,000.00

* Should PLANTATION BAY RESORT AND SPA later decide to use a (winning or non-winning) picture publicly, the photographer will be awarded P 2,000.00 per photo used.

My family and I stayed there Last Christmas, pde kato nalang mga pics gamiton?
My niece and nephews took a lot of shots from all nook and crannies of the resort.

of course photographers joining this contest can get in. you could even get in anytime of the day and ask for an ocular tour as long as they're not busy. BTW, on any fine day sunrise and sunsets are really great there. the rooftop of Leblon Roofdeck gives a nice landscape like wise on EDO roofdeck. If you could choose a room.. shoot for the Penthouse it has an amazing 180 view and light coming in wouldn't much of a problem. nice eh?! goodluck (I won't be joining) =)
