"It has a flashy display and user interface and LED touch screen controls that disappear when not in use.
Most importantly, the Slim offers great sound quality, especially for its modest price. It supports MP3, WMA and OGG audio formats. You can also store text files and photos as JPEGs and navigation to any of the files is easy with the intuitive screen display. In the music menu, you can make selections by artist, album and playlist. The playback screen can show song info, album art or a choice of three animated displays. Video can be stored on the device in MPEG4 format but must be loaded using the proprietary Samsung software which is included with the player. Syncing with your computer is done through via included USB cable. Battery life for the player is estimated at 25 hours for audio and 4 hours for video playback.
A high point of the YP-S3 is the integrated FM radio and you can record broadcasts directly. You can have the radio scan for available stations and there is an option to include or exclude weak stations. There is also an alarm function and some cool games. The player has a nice equalizer capability with nine user definable bands as well as seven factory presets categories including bass boost. The player comes with a pretty decent set of earbuds but, because it has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, you’re free to use a different pair of phones if you prefer.
All in all, the Samsung YP-S3 Slim is a high quality, feature packed MP3 player at a very attractive price."
