chicken liver for LGs? ive heard pinkies but not chicken livers
In the US, big breeders exclusively use mealworms. it's more manageable feeding mealworms especially if you're caring for 50 or more gex. you just have to refill the dish whenever needed. and you just scoop up the mealies. crickets are also good, especially the the fat black ones...but hassle lang kaayo manakop sa crix enclosures. gikapoy na ko sa2 1/2 years of exclusively using crickets as feeders for my LGs.
I am now exclusively feeding my LGs mealworms for the past 6 months, except for about 3 adults who really don't touch mealies or SWs in their dish. crickets or dubias ra gyud ilaha. they prefer those that walk around for them to hunt and pounce upon. It's more convenient especially if you have to go through several rows of stacked LG enclosures.
I also notice that those hatchlings which were given mealies right from their very first meal have bulkier bodies and tails by the time they are 1 month old.
SWs are good for fattening adult females in preparation for breeding. But if SWs suit your LG's taste, why not?! Just be aware of the possible effects to your pet. My TGs are fed 80% SWs....and they are very bulky...and their tails are as fat as my LGs. Imagine a them with such a tail.![]()
