guys, has anyone around here encountered a similar error above with their acer laptops when trying to do a recovery using the recovery disk?
a little overview...
this is the acer recovery disk that was created when the unit was first used. it was working before, tried using both the recovery partition and the 2 recovery dvd's a couple times in the past and it worked fine.
i am suspecting that this is caused by installing ubuntu (maybe somehow it messed up the OEM partitions). but i didn't delete the PQSERVICE (recovery partition) of acer when i installed ubuntu. i left it as it was.
when i decided to get it back to its original OS, i tried the recovery partition but it didn't work (unable to find something...).
so i then tried the recovery dvd. it will start (but after a long while) to load the windows files then comes up with an error 0x00000e9 and quits it will not go any further.
Restore Failed- reason 0x00000e9
Click OK to restart the computer.
