price wise bro, i think dako man kaayo og difference sa i3 nga system unit compared with, for example a dual core..just wanted to build a basic gaming/basic home use PC..
nways, i heard nindot pd og reputation ang gigabyte nga g31, any comments on this? so far, ok kaayo ang mga asus nga g31.. (P5KPLs)
thinking of goin with ecs since its much more cheaper than asus..
thanks for your word bro butitoy.. ^^

You could try going AMD build if you're on a bit tight on budget. Your 2.5k could already get you a dual core. Add another 2k to that...and you have the Asrock UCC motherboard or you can get an Emaxx board with solid caps.. it's not as fast as i3 but it's dual core for a good price.

actually gamay ra bro.if mag set-up ka ug new gaming set

    Intel Core i3 540 *(3.06Ghz, 4MB Cache) is 4,695.00 , while the basic h55 board ( ECS H55H-M DDR3, VS GLan PCIE ) is 2,895.00

    ****
    comparable C2D setup : Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 (2.93Ghz) 5,350.00 + G31 : Asus P5k - 2300.00
performance : Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

    ****
    price comparable red team : AMD Phenom X4 640 boxed 4,795.00 + ECS A780GM-A solid capacitor 2,695.00
performance : Bench - CPU - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

but performance wise, that processor is more than the quad C2Q6600 | the fast C2D e8400 | the midperformer e7500 | the start-up AMD X4 640

    but its ur call..

if naa naka S775 Procie, have the XfX G31, adto palit sa NUTECH emall

nice OverClocker, very stable and great stock speed performer.

pwede ra pud ka mag G41 na lang if ur planning to use onboard VC ra

and take advantage of the onboard GMA X4500
