HELP: ATI HD4870 1GB now reads 512mb

I had this HD4870 for 2 years now.

I loved it specially after upgrading my CPU to quad.. i was getting the best FPS so far sa games nako.

I switched to Win7 last month (Jan 6) and expected things to be faster but FPS dropped with all my games.
I thought it was just the video driver knowing im now running 64bit.. but same results after driver update.


Just today i was playing with my proc and checked CPUZ... I noticed my graphics card only has 512mb!!!!
i double checked using GPUZ and same results... 512mb instead of 1GB.
It used have 1Gb before.

Im at work now and wont get home in a few hours.
Im planning to reseat the VC... but any other ideas whats happening?

cge lang jam... ma resolve gyud na... daghan dri mga masters... karon pa man gyud ko ani nka sugat...

suwayi be jam laing computer ang video card mo bacin ma detect pa lang 1 GB sa laing PC

lagi mike.. try nako ig abot nako balay.

mayta ma balik ra iya pagka 1gb oi.. daku kaayu difference sa 500mb ma wala

kasuway ko ani sa akong asus 3650...
ako ra gi uninstal ang drivers.. then ni download ko sa ati.com nya ako install then reboot then gi check sa GPU-Z .. ok nah !

assuming wala defect ang vc(hope wala) catalyst 9.7/9.8 works great for 4xxx series...

then try older GPU-Z to identify your vc... the latest gpu-z has trouble identiying my old x1300...

Cge nako update drivers... mao ra ghapon.
everyday ko ga dula naka notice jud ko since January nga ni hinay na cya, Karun lang ko naka check na 512mb nalng iya gi gamit instead of 1gb.
Kun sayup ang GPUZ.. mao man sad na basa sa CPUZ gud, 512mb ra jud cya.

Ako plano kay ako ibton nya balik nako or ako try sa pikas computer if 512mb ghapon ang iya ma detect.

hmm, iya clock speed same ra ghapon? cause IMO and as per reviews online, wala kaayo difference ang HD4870 w/ 512mb vram vs 1GB vram. So whatever slowdown imo na experience may not be caused by the 1GB vram only detected as 512mb vram.

daku difference,, everyday ko ga dula.. i can tell the difference

NBA 2k11 nako before was 65-70 FPS.
karun 33-35 FPS nalng. sakit na sa mata.
