Default What do you think of this kind of boss?

    * doesn't know how the etiquette in writing corporate emails (naay color2x, all caps sometimes - - k nag shagit na diay LOL, with matching curse words pa)

    * likes to threaten people na pa bawasan ang sweldo if mag sayop, puts sweldo on hold k nag absent ang employee, puts sweldo on hold unless employee goes to HR and signs written warning (oh dba, asa ka kita anah na boss: naa naka written warning e put on hold pa jud sweldo nimo... oh wait with matching 5 days suspension pa na ha!... and for goodness sake, it doesnt go through the normal and legal process na verbal warning first, written warning dayon for 2nd offense, that kind of thing.) mu threaten pa jud consider this your final warning, you will be terminated if you commit another mistake.. just like that..
mag wonder ko, did that boss ever worked his or her entire life?? buot2x system??

*calls you stupid and lazy when in fact you render overtime galore, sometimes you take only one break with the amount of work you're doing.

*shouts at you in front of other people, as in batasan murag taga palengke!

Well, if you're this kind of boss and you're reading it you better know that:

    * overtime pay is not a perk that comes with the job, it's a right dumb ass!
    * you're not supposed to put salary on hold unless employee went on AWOL or is resigning... ABSENCE is not a reason for holding the salary (legit na absence ha)
    * learn to deal with people in a firm but respectful manner. unless you grew up without an education, then you have no right to treat people like they're crap.
    * owning a company, managing a company doesn't give you the right to abuse your power.

what about you? do you have any boss issues?

    p.s.
be aware that this is a public forum, anyone can read this including your boss. just a reminder.

I've seen this kind of boss sa may restaurant (barbecue grill) sa AS Fortuna. As in , he shouts at his employees infront of the customers. Gi tawag niya na bugo kay instead of water w/out ice kay naay ice ang na serve.

This is the what we so call, "traditional management style. Earning his subordinates' respect by threatening them... Luoy lang ang maka trabaho under niya

T/S is this a personal experience? Does this kind of boss really exist?
I mean, he's a boss, an owner prolly. He should know his ethical manners down to every details of job ethics.

he's not even respectful, and he shouts to his employees? gosh, what he has is a company not worth applying for..we dont only check on what the company can give but also on the boss's attitude.. If they give good compensation however your boss tends to have undesirable traits and treat you like a dog..nah thanks but no thanks..

he couldn't run his company unless he has these people who would render service. I mean you should treat your employees well and give what are due to them..

good thing our boss is nice and doesn't even have a single unbecoming trait that certain boss has..

if you cant bear your boss, RESIGN.. the door is always open for you to explore other options and other companies..

if your sick of your job and the people and/or it's environment? RESIGN..

We are democratic country and everyone is entitled freely to choose and decide whom/where and what she should work for...

the options are there.. you just have to take the plunge....

Unfortunately for some people this kind of boss does exist. I'm glad my boss right now is super nice. Even though sapoton sya he doesn't take it out on his employees. He asks for suggestions, comments... so we can help out in the betterment of the company..
yes, that's a personal experience and yes that kind of manager/boss does exist.
A manager once told me that the reason why that boss' attitude is like that is because any good businessman should be tight and should get his money's worth. Whoa! I was shocked by that assessment. That is absolutely not an excuse for treating people that way. Oh well, thinking about that, as well as assessing that manager's attitude I wouldn't be surprised. Birds of the same feather flock together LOL.
I'm thinking it's more psychological. Why do some bosses treat their employees that way? Was it from way back when they were a child and people were really hard and strict on them, that this is their way to compensate for all their hurts? hahahaha!
Seriously, I managed people before and I never thought of shouting at people even if they can't be productive. I think of better ways to communicate with them. When I left the position, those people really said everything's different when I was managing them. I told them to give the new manager a chance. We all have different ways of managing a team right? So anyway, back to the boss from hell... I still don't understand why that kind of boss acts that way.. hmmmm.. any thoughts?

aw think what you want to think. :P it could be that company... but
I was not describing just one boss from one company. just so you know.
this is not about which company it is. I'm actually just getting thoughts from different people on why a boss acts this way..

Agree. but I'm getting feedbacks from some people as well that the reason why they put up with that kind of boss is because they need a job badly. If the company is a call center, then probably the employee might not have any problems transferring to another call center since we have an abundance of that here in Cebu.
Resignation is always an option for most people. But for some people it's not. If you're a single dad and feeding 3 mouths, resignation is not an immediate answer. So that's why I'm asking what could be done about these kind of bosses? If he's just someone who manages the company, then it's easy to complain to owners right...
What I'm asking here, is there any Law to protect the rights of the employees in that sort of case? wherein the employers are unfair and abusive...
I think there should be a system or organization that does random checking companies every now and then... random checking to be exact...
