Frontline Plus or Advantix

hey guys

based from your experience, which do you think is better to kill ticks?

my puppy first tried advantix because mao man ang product nga g.carry sa amo vet. i guess it was okay. saw only about one or two ticks on my puppy after the application but problem is, i don't see them in the usual petshops. and i don't know pd if okay ba ang effects jd coz at that time, my pup was diagnosed with other ailments.

so anyhoo, about a month after that, i bought frontline plus kai mao man available sa caminade and frankly lang pd, i know more people using it with good results and good reviews. however, even a week after that, my puppy was still scratching itself way more than usual which was alarming. i gave him a bath 7 days after application, and though na.lessen ang scratching, he still scratched himself more than i want him to. fortunately, there were no serious rashes that resulted from all the scratching though naa'y one or two red spots here and there which disappeared ra pd.

so now, i'm undecided whether i should go back to advantix or stick with frontline plus. problem is, i bought frontline plus kadtong naa sa box nga 3 jd ka applicators.. i used one, but now i'm not sure whether i should continue with the two.. if naa nahan mu.buy, i'd be willing to sell it for less than what most petshop offers.

lastly, do you think i'm just paranoid guys?? hehehe. basin nya bitaw normal ra diay sa doggies mag.scratch every now and then.. given my puppy's close brush with erhlichia months back, i don't want to risk it man gd mao na spot on lang sa every month or so until he's about a year na guro.

Tried advantix before. bati not that effective since it only kills a specific type of tick and the rest are hit or miss.

frontline works better kills everything! fleas and ticks.

ako sad naka try ko advantix wala kaau ganahi sa result okay kaau ko sa frontline spot on mahal lang jud cya pero worth it sad.

errr guys... what can u say about caminade in mambaling? i bought this box of 3 frontline plus applicators from there.. my bad na i forgot to ask for a receipt jd.. huhuhu.. searching online though, kai mura'g di man effective oi, i found that it has a different picture on the front (i have the one for dogs & puppies, smallest size), and that the dog size was in Kg thus i'm now having doubts if this is legit or not. and it has no EPA # (really had no idea i have to look for those).. but then again, after more searching, i found the same frontline package as mine and that it's from Merial Australia.. this was my first time using this so i was totally clueless

the box i have doesn't mention anything about coming from Australia or anything like that kai ang nakabutang man gihapon kai Made in Toulouse, France but i found the exact same box in the Australian site for Frontline.

the reason why i stay away from caminade is that you are forced to buy the whole box of frontline. and some of their products are questionable especially the ones that isn't written on english.

have you ever consider the scratching is not due to ticks or fleas?
food, environmental?....

yes.. i thought jd since the shop was well-known and dghan sd sila products, ok sila.. and yep, i agree ma.forced jd ka ug buy sa whole box since a single applicator cost about half of the box which contained 3 pippettes.. haaayzzz..

i'm considering pd bitaw basin other sources ang cause sa iyang scratching.. though everything had been constant ra man..dogfood, shampoo, vitamins, etc. well, except guro sa iya treat which seldom ra man nuon cia tgaan..

but thanks that helped clear things up a bit.. and nah, i'm not selling na the frontline plus.. it's not fair to the other owners when i myself have doubts as to whether it's legit or not..

i've never used advantix but i do find frontline plus effective. been using it on my dogs. however, it always helps to manually check your dog for tick/flea every now and then. more importantly, try and disinfect your surroundings especially if your neighbor has dogs too. another preventive measure

when you say scratching, do you mean with his feet or like licking and nibbling on himself? if he licks/nibbles on himself a lot and cause some red spots, you may want to try and spray something like tea tree oil. it is bitter in taste so your dog will not want to lick/nibble on himself but it is not harmful to them.
