Vitacon converters: Yay or nay?

I have a friend who bought a vitacon wide angle converter.

I was planning to buy one for my 18-55 (so that's the 58mm size) but I can't any online shop in the Philippines or Cebu selling it.

What do you guys think about this wide angle converter? It looks like an awesome alternative rather than buying a 10-22mm. Cuz 18mm X 0.45= 8.1mm (sakto ba ni ako assumption on calculation?) Then again, is 8.1mm already fisheye ug dating? naa na kaha na refraction of the image?

@micheal: 58mm ang size sa kit lens sa canon..hehee

@vahnn: hmm... if I remember a wide angle converter is they are wider kay sa kit lens but not as wide.. better test nalng sa converter sa imu friend and compare if it's really wide enough for your needs

IQ on wide angle converter isn't that great, we'll on my experience on using one...

sakto! you'd better buy UWA, then kung gusto jud ka mag fisheye, e PP nalang na sa Fisheye Hemi mura2x ra na ug effect sa tinuod na fisheye....

pero kung disidido jd ka mag fisheye, palit nalang Samyang 8mm fisheye, pero manual focus ra na.

it depends in how you manipulate the image sd.
