CALLING OUT CANINE AGILITY ENTHUSIASTS IN CEBU. WE ARE IN THE PRE PLANNING STAGE TO HAVE AN AGILITY TEAM OF CEBU. THE VISION AND MISSION IS TO PROMOTE THIS DOG SPORT IN CEBU AND TO HAVE A TEAM TO COMPETE WITH OTHER REGIONAL TEAMS IN THE NEAR FUTURE. WE HAVE COMMMUNICATED WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINE DOG AGILITY ASSOCIATION AND THEY ARE JUST AS EXCITED AS WE ARE TO JOIN THIS FAST GROWING DOG SPORT IN THE COUNTRY.BACOLOD, DAVAO, GEN. SANTOS, KADIPAWAN AND JUST RECENTLY MANILA HAD A VERY SUCCESSFUL NATIONAL COMPETITION IN DAVAO LAST SEPTEMBER 3, 2006 AND THE COMPETITION WAS DOMINATED BY DAVAO. WE FEEL THAT CEBU NEEDS AN AGILITY TEAM TO COMPETE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. WE ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL DOG TRAINERS BUT WE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE DEEP PASSION IN DOG TRAINING. WE ARE ALSO IN THE STAGE OF TRAINING SOME PUPS/DOGS IN AGILITY. LETS FOLLOW BACOLOD PEOPLE WHO ALSO STARTED THE WAY WE HAVE STARTED. PASSION IN DOG TRAINING IS ALL WE NEED.

nice to hear that u ar nrested. can u give us some personal background about ur self? what dog do you have? are they obedient trained? socialize? if so, why not try to join us in one of our informal trianing? you can have a non pedigree dog for agility competition....even a local dog will do as long as it has the drive and the focus to go through the obstacles.

thanks for the response. It would be nice if we all have obedient trained dogs ans well socialize so that whenever we will schedule to meet each other we can hopefully go to some basic stuff in agility. one of the most important thing is to have a 100 % recall of our dogs... be with distractions and no distractions. secondly, all our dogs can be on off leash without imposing danger to humans and with other pets. The sit, sit stay and the down stay can come later as we go along.
please inform me thru this forum anything you want to know about agility......

just have a pet dog either be a pedigree, non pedigree or a local one. start them up for obedience but most importantly well socialize both to humans and other dogs. The passion to train the dog for obedience must be present. its a long and tediuos process to have an agility dog. The result is a fulfilling one......this is much better than the conformation show....

we are planning to have informal meeting on a saturday afternoon ( 5-6 pm) pero we have to confirm the specific date. The purpose is to know each other, expectations being a member, how to get started in canine agility ( its objective, benefits and the fun of training personally our pets, awareness of the agility dog sports in the Philippines, etc ).

K9-care prefers OWNERS to train their own dogs. We will try to assist those who wants to train their pet dogs.

Future activities include home obedience training program, group seminars and workshops on clicker training,
and pre puppy agility training. Materials and videos will be presented.

To those charter members, formalize K9-care membership with the Philippine Dog Agility Association under the leadership of Donnie Poblador.

Serious queries / questions regarding k9-care will be entertained on this thread.
