Default Nikon DSLR made in Thailand

mga sir, i'm about to buy nikon D5000 and it says it's made in Taiwan. Curious lang ko if naa bay made in USA or Japan ani? and if naa does the price differ? same manufacturer lang man siguro ni so i would assume same quality and durability ra sad... any comments?

    Edit:

Doesn't matter they all go tru Nikon quality control. As to cheapest, it's grey market....

The Pro bodies are probably made in Japan. The Pro-sumer are all made from Thailand or China. hayden is right. They all go through QC. However, I would not suggest getting grey markets because of the warranties and stuff like that.

Japan can no longer compete in the international market if they continue to produce their products there.

As long as any products are legitimate brands, especially electronics and the likes, they passed the same level of quality controls. Even if products are covered by warranty, if their local representatives or customer support sucks, it doesn't add any value at all!! And this marketing bullshits that they won't honor international warranties or doesn't cover the same products bought from outside the country is really damn poor excuses!! They are better off if they want to sell warranty separately to give buyers a choice....like for the "grey" units. At least, buyer knows it doesn't come with warranty. But watch out, companies out there may charge you excessively for "grey" units when you send them in for repair..

I guess consumer rights group should start lobbying to stop these bullshits if they really indeed want to sincerely serve the public!! hahaha
