Default Do we have groups that would protect the rights and welfare of commuters/passengers?

Jeepney and taxi drivers have a group or some sort of union that could stand on their behalf, hence that is why kung mosaka ang gasolina, they could ask for fare increase which is rightfully given to them. However, kung moubos ang presyo sa gasolina, dugay pud kaayo moubos ang pliti.

In line to this, naa bay grupo that protects the commuting population about the fare increase? I think this is one of the reasons why daghan kaayo ug mga abusado nga drivers ug operators. Other than the increase, pwerteng daghana ug mga operators ug drivers nga tikasan. We all know that LTFRB and LTO are bombarded with complaints or maybe they're just either too incompetent or being bribed so ang action hinay kaayo.

If there is a group or something like a union para sa mga pasahero, I think that it would be much better para naay mobarog para sa side sa mga pasahero.

Example sa pagtaas sa taxi fare right now. Nisaka ang pliti tungod kay nisaka ang gasolina ug LPG which is justifiable sa side sa mga drivers. But P40 sa flagdown and P3.50 ang patak? I think that's just too much. How about P3 lang ang patak? And tagaan pa ug rason nga "taxi is for luxury and para lang sa mga makaafford"? Tell that to people who are experiencing emergency cases. I don't think that taxis are for luxury.

Operators and drivers could easily air out their grievances because naay grupo nga mobarog para nila. Unfortunately, sa mga pasahero, wala. If naa man gani, are they doing their duties well?

    - Emergencies dont happen everyday to an individual , indeed its a luxury .
    - There is a reason why they want increase in fares , di lang tungod kay feel nila .
    - If its too much , naa man LTFRB mo review if its feasible to raise the fare .

The regulatory body like LTFRB, Gov't Agencies like LTO and DOTC are already there to provide services and ensure the rights and welfare of the general public or commuters in general are properly protected.
It is their mandate to uphold the law and implement the guidelines, rules and regulations of these PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION providers.

All we need to do as commuters is to be heard thus PUBLIC HEARINGS are a pre-requisite before any major policies concerning public interest are approved or implemented. All you need to do is ATTEND and SPEAK OUT during these hearings.

Other than emergencies, safety too is a concern, labi na sa kadtong mga tigbiyahe ug gabii (like call center agents)

As far as I know, tungod sa pagsaka sa gasolina ug LPG. Apparently, they haven't taken into consideration ang commuters. Don't you think that P3.50 is too much? Ok ra man siguro ang P3 nga patak over the P40 flagdown.

I don't want too sound too righteous but I think that LTFRB is crooked. Some taxi operators are connected or know someone sa LTFRB and I've even read sa pikas thread nga taga LTFRB mismo ang mokuti sa taxi meter para less than 300 meters mopatak na.

na storya naku driver sa taxi sakyan naku gahapon.. ingon xa nga mo kita sila ug 500 regularly but this is for a 24 hours shift kadtong mo garahe ra ug 10pm or 11pm mo kita daw na sila ug 300 a day.. kanang mo kita ug 1k is usually mga pakyaw na sa mga foreigner..

pls do not compare driver sa programmer or regular employee kay binulan ang sweldo ug naa mga benifits like health and insurance.. ang driver is daily.. kung dili mka biyaha walay kaonon.. kita naa regular job whatever happens naa ta gi expect nga sweldo..

base sa imohang example mag taxi driver nalang unta ta kay mas daku man d i kwarta..

daku ra jud ang increase kay wa man ni daku atong sweldo... cguro dapat atong pangayoon mga commuters nga dapat mo daku na sweldo kay ni daku na pud ang standard of living kay ni mahal man pag maau ang gasolina... naa man gani dinhi mga employee sa cebu nga bisan regular employee sila pero ang sweldo is below sa minimum wage...

OT: walay may sector for commuters kay commuters na belong naman sa lahi2x nga sector like student, labor or farmers... every increase naa man public hearing mo attend ta dapat ana na mga hearing..

Maybe naa kay wala nakita. True that taxi drivers could earn as much as P2000 a day pero kuhaan pa na ug boundary ug sa patubil. Most likely makalimpyo na sila ug at least P300 a day. But sa kadtong mga kugihan ug naay mga suki, for sure mas taas gyud ilang kitaon ana.

Rightful man sad ang pagsaka sa pliti pero para nako, ang P40 for the first 500 meters ug P3.50 sa succeeding 300 meters, dako ra kaayo. Imagine for the first 1 km, sa karaan nga rate, P37.50 ra ang mabayran pero sa bag-o, P43.50 na.

I mean some groups that could represent on the commuters behalf? Like kung monaog ang gasolina, they could propose for a decrease in fare? Para nako, since commuters come from different walks of life, lain2 ta ug priorities and the fare hike is among the least of our priorities.
