Default Suggestion: Thank You and Groan Button

    Good morning Istoryans!

Pasayloa ko, pero dili' ko sigurado sa sakto na category para ani akong post:
    Suggestion:

Thank You and Groan Button for www.Istorya.net/forums

I am a user/forumer in another local forum of a specific interest, and we have these two buttons in addition to the currently existing Quote, Multi-Quote and Quick Reply button; these are the last two buttons succeeding the first three as quoted above. I find these two buttons very important and useful for forum interaction, as well as handy in expressing agreement OR disagreement to a certain comment/post.

Kung agree ka sa gi-sulti sa post, or for whatever you want to thank the commentator/poster for, press the button. If you disagree, or for whatever reason you 'dislike' the comment/post, press the button.

    How it helps the forum:

    • Lessens unnecessary comments/posts
    • Improves interaction pace
    • Less hassle, less buttons clicked, less time consumed

Once you have pressed either button, your expression will reflect immediately preceded by it (click to view full-size images):

    (Example: Thank You)

    (Example: Groan)

    ... what do you think?

If you belong to another local forum, why are you asking here? Don't you think you should be asking the people there? I mean what do we get if we "like" the "THANKS" and "GROAN" button? It is nice that you shared how those buttons help you, but I think I can decide for myself if indeed it helps me or not. However, I haven't tried any of those things you've mentioned so it is difficult for me to give you an answer. Thanks

    Because Istorya.net doesn't have it.

No, because my question is for people here.

    That's why I asked:
    ... what do you think?

Oh thank you for your comment in this thread, despite the lack of depth in your answer.
(This last statement would have been eliminated with the presence of the buttons suggested)

    Peace! Merry Christmas!

and it will just be abused like the karma rating before...

also, try to search istorya wishlist, and you should post it there.

I don't think so. Plenty of people don't know how to do it.

Thanks for your suggestion. Kung naay mag-Groan sa certain comment, na dili' man pud un-useful or disagreeable, diha' makita' kung unsa ka-immature ang nag-Groan -- kay personal diay ang rason. In other words, kung kinsa 'tong namersonal, nagpakita' ra pud sa iyang immaturity. Siya ra pud mag-daot sa iyang kaugalingon. (Unless he proves his Groan point by succeeding the Groan with a sensible comment)

I understand this is a gatecrash, but it works well for our forum. Basin lang diay mu-work pud diri ...

Thanks for your comment. Bitaw, I agree; this is most appropriate for buy-and-sell categories. Pero maayo unta' mu-comment/post pud ang nag-Groan/Thank You para mahibaw-an, dili' kay pindot-ke-pindot lang.

Ah, I see. I experienced that too, Karma abuse. Pakita' sa immaturity.
Pero ang nakalahi' aning Thank You and Groan kay ang specific post ang gi-object, dili' ang poster/user. So walay karma-karma, and it doesn't dictate his/her reputation. Sayop/bati' ang comment, you get a Groan. Maayo, get a Thank You.

With the use of these buttons man gud makita' pud kung unsa ang stand sa majority about a certain matter. Kung naay duha ka-user na mag-post ug contradicting arguments, makita' kung asa nila ang mas nauyonan sa kadaghanan by the number of Thank Yous below the post, unlike the existing situation na mag-post ta ug "I agree" quoting the 'agreed' comment, ug matagbaw ta ug ihap sa mga tawo na ni-agree sa comment by the succeeding posts. This is common in threads seeking advices, opinions and the views of the public. (Just like this thread, I would have pressed the Thank You button for your comments, the three of you)

Anyway suggestion ra man ni, not to be taken seriously. For the benefit of the forum.

    P.S.:
Can't use the Search button yet, newbie pa ko. Hehe. Can't find that wishlist quickly. Sorry.
