Default Inno3D GTX460SE (Super Confusing Edition?)

I just spotted a new GTX460 card for sale at PC Express, the Inno3D GTX460SE. The price looks great, but there's a problem...... this isn't an overclocked card, but that's no big deal. What concerns me is that while the core frequency is the standard 650mhz other specifications are actually lower than a non SE model.

So it seem that nVidia are continuing what seems to have become a tradition for them, namely confusing the consumer with a myriad of model names, numbers and versions. The casual video card buyer has my sympathy.

it would seem that it's the card between the gtx 460 768mb and gtx 460 1gb...here's a review

And just to make things even more confusing apparently there is also a GTX460SE "Green Edition".

probably with just 1 6-pin power connection or no power connection @ all...meaning lower temps, less power consumption but also probably lower performance

You can overclock the SE to standard GTX 460 speeds. But I'd rather get the 768mb version unless you're running games above 1080p. I saw the SE Green Edition ( slow edition further slowed lol ). And the specifications are just the same comparing it to the standard SE Edition specification. Probably limited OC capability over the vanilla GTX 460 SE.

haha mao jud ning sakit sa nvidia, ang nakalahi ra ani sa normal 460 kai mem. Ng tan-aw2 ko ani sa evga site pag last, pagkakita nako naka "wth" ko wahahah.

all those name are marketing BS bay. I laugh at those 'special OC editions' when you can easily OC it yourself. plus ang factory OC is really pathetic like 40Mhz OC ra. the only really considerable 'Special Edition' is with modified cooling or bigger memory buffers... or possibly the looks

ako advice ani is just do your research and be a smart consumer. Never buy the hype unless you got data to prove it.
