my cebu xt250 motard project, + pics & suggestions, any ideas please?

hi guys.
2 days ago I swapped my cbr250r honda for a yamaha xt250 (with a spare xt250 engine &some cash my way).
at first i thought i would tidy it up and use it on the dirt. it needed new tyres so last night I dropped the wheels off it ready to get tyres fitted today.
while i had it sitting on blocks i slipped my kawasaki 250/4 rims on it to see how it looked as a motard.
it sits at a nice height and looks great. the axles were the same diameter and the rear wheel wasnt too wide for the swingarm.

my only problem is mounting the front disc brake caliper to the fork leg.

does anyone have any suggestions?

I have some thick alloy plate I can make up some tags to fit the caliper to (then have them welded to the fork leg).
But is there anyone in cebu who does electriic alloy welding? theres a guy here in bohol who does excellent alloy welding but its by oxy/acetylene.

on wednesday we will ride to cebu (via Argao) and have a T4 type muffler fitted and a new seat cover at motosuit...
next will be to strip & powdercoat the frame (and some other parts) at republic powder coating

and of course ill fit new seals throughout the engine to stop the many oil leaks (as pictured!)

thats very nice projeck bro!
all u need is a bracket for your caliper.
maybe you can go to motofix @ mambaling to have it fabricate the brackets for your caliper.
& u might want to change the front fender & headlight or modify your rear fender to YZF look...

i know Jubal at motofix and will ask his opinion next time i see him...
yeah the rear fender is pretty ugly, and the headlight (although bright) would be better looking even as an xrm or polisports type. Ill look around on wed for a new front fender too. the old one is also ugly and useless anyway!!!

yeah mate, I think a black xrm headlight would look better on it! (not so good in the dark though!)

I recently bought a xt250 bottom end and frame for parts, so im using it for a template for fitting the balius parts to it.

heres some pics of the weird looking setup.
i dont know if ill go with the tank and other plastic panels but i am definately going with the kwaka swingarm and forks etc...[IMG][/IMG]

heres an update.
the other bikes are taking up alot of time so this project has been slow.
i fitted a new seatcover to a seat i got from a surplus shop.
i stripped down the engine and had it hohned out and am fitting new shims to the topend.
i had our mate winkle (your and my good friend Zemville!) do the lathe work on the triple clamp, fitted new steering head bearings and started on the swingarm...
heres the pics...

next is grafting the road shock to the swingarm...
