I work in Riyadh for 8 months. I didn't finished my contract because I hate Saudi Arabia. Our office is along the main shopping strip in Olaya Road. All shops including restos closes during prayer time. Even if you are in the middle of your meal/lunch you have to get out from the restaurant because they close, leaving your food on the table. During prayer time if the MUTAWA sees you that you are still loitering (even if you are not Muslim) he will lash you with his whip. That's how backward life in there. DON'T EVEN try to have an eye contact with a lady on the elevator when their partners are with them because you will be in trouble. The up side is during prayer time you can relax on your office desk and let everyone finish their prayers.

In short, DON'T GO ANYWHERE IN SAUDI ARABIA. You are only wasting your time and you will be disappointed.

Go to United Arab Emirates (UAE) instead. i.e. Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
