Lan Card that works with a laptop for G'lines broadband

Forgive me for asking this but I would just like to know what I would need to be able to connect to a broadband connection if I have a laptop that does not have a built in lan card. I know I would need a PCMCIA card - but do they all work the same way- compatibility-wise?

I already have a laptop with a built-in lan card; hubby wants to connect at the same time to the modem/router provided by the broadband internet--para way ilog--what if wala'y PCMCIA iyang laptop? If we buy one, ok raba jud na, like is it plug and play; etc etc? Please help....

Thanks dagget, I'm breathing a sigh of relief right now...-big one. I dont want to upset my connection if we both use the broadband considering that "his unit" does not have one and we have to get it pa.

So all I will have to do is put in a pcmcia, install the wire and connect to the router---and bingo, we have a connection! Thanks so much!
