personally i think dvr is a better option. when choosing a dvr, go for those with better compression.

Wa man kaayo difference sa duha, and quality sa imong monitoring would depend on the compression from any of the two. Pero personally, i would tend to shy away from using PC-based solutions. Depende na sa number of cams. If daghan, then the DVR is a better option. If 1 to 3 cams lang, then i'd go for stand-alone IP cams with Memory slots (no PC's needed).

8 cams. pero ang IP cams need man japon PC para ma monitor.
ang aq main concern is the speed sa pag monitor via internet. Wiimax 1mbps ra man gud ang available sa area nya dynamic IP pa jud.

What i meant by stand-alone IP cams with memory are those that don't need to be connected to a PC to be able to record. Di ba normally, mao man ni ang set-up:

IP Cam --> Switch --> PC for recording/monitoring --> Internet ---------> Remote PC monitoring via internet

IP's cam's with internal memory can be setup like this:

IP Cam w/ memory --> Switch --> Internet ---------> Remote PC monitoring via internet

So wala na tong monitoring PC nga kinahanglan mag 24/7 para lang maka monitor or maka record ka.

But in your case, since 8 cams man ka, and I assume all in one location... mas better mag 8-channel DVR ka kay mas cheaper compared sa IP Cams w/ memory. Di sad mo matter and dynamic IP, daghan naman DVR's karon nga mo support ug DDNS.

Kung concerned gyud ka sa quality tungod sa imong limited internet connection, i suggest you try the unit nalang. Check your inbox, you might be interested.
