Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater :(

I can't believe Mike left DT.. I don't think someone could ever replace him. Thoughts anyone?

Well maybe some older drummers like Neil from Rush but Portnoy had his own sound. DT likes using weird time signatures so not many drummers are willing to go outside of their 4/4 box.

Thomas Lang could do some justice. I said Neil first but he's getting old and I don't think he's really going to venture into Dream Theater. As for the other possible drummers, most of them are either dead, too old or too far from the US to replace Portnoy. Pity though, he was always in my list of best drummers.

You could just search youtube for interviews... at first, i really thought that he's just gonna take a break, do solo projects and stuff... but he really left DT T_T
