Thread: 64bit capable?

    Lightbulb 64bit capable?

    (a) Asus P5KPL-AM EPU

    (b) Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5400

    (c) 1GB DDR2 PC667/800 Kingston

Intel E5400 has EM64T feature, meaning it is 64-bit ready... so it wouldn't be a problem installing 64-bit Operating Systems on it

^it actually might be a problem because you'll need at least 4gb RAM to run x64 properly, that means youre 3gb behind bro.

    wow ... hanep!

ka-ubo diay ta ani sa 'price is right'. pero nalibog ko gamay sa imong tubag bro ..

unsa imo ipasabot nga " ... to run x64 properly ... ", ang OS nga i-install Win Server 2008 o ang cpu mismo nga Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5400?

actually, ang main purpose gyud nako ani aside nga makabag-o ko unit is (i) praktis pud unsa gamit ani o nindut ba gyud o epektibo ba ang Win Server 2008; ug tingali (ii) mag-dual boot sab ko sa lain nga OS; o at the same time (iii) mag-virtual within mismo sa sud Win Server 2008.

sounds like very ambition kaayu pero mao gyud ni akong katuyuan.

mao ba bai archt_vin nga basic requirements gyud ang 4G RAM basta 64 bits.

kafaetz gud diay ... taasa diay sa requirements nu kun mag-64 bit ta pc.

    tsk tsk tsk

ug sa gikaasuy ko na sa hitaas nga bahin ani nga post nga main purpose gyud nako aside makabag-o ko unit is (i) praktis unsa kagamit o nindut ba o epektibo ba ang Win Server 2008; ug (ii) mag-dual boot ko sa laing OS; ug the same time (iii) mag-virtual within mismo sa sud Win Server 2008. o in short, ganahan ko makat-on

so does it mean nga tanan nag-dual core karon cpu is 4G gyud ilang mga RAM?

    cheers!

    naming scheme:
    x86 ---> 32-bit OS
    x64 ---> 64-bit OS

The converting to 64-bit makes sense if you have at least 4gb of ram since a 32-bit OS only recognizes around 3GB...

so does it mean nga tanan nag-dual core karon cpu is 4G gyud ilang mga RAM?
No not all. The same token that not all are using 64-bit OS. processors are about memory allocation. going 64-bit requires more memory used to process data which is why u need more ram for it.

ahhhh ... i see (mura nakakuha nako gamay) heheh

way kaso bay oi. We are happy to help what we can.
Regarding sa RAM and CPU, ang importante jud sa any pc bay is BALANCE. tinuod in a sense na importante ang cpu mas powerful over lots of RAM pero if gamay ra kaayo imo RAM ma bottleneck pud ang performance sa imo cpu... imagina na kusog kaayo imo pump pero ang tubo nimo kay gamay ra kaayo...

For server applications, importante na dako2x pud ka ug RAM bay. Since pang server ni siya, this means gamiton ni siya for lots of multitasking right? i would say na pag kuha lang 4gb RAM bro kay murag ang software karon is moving to the 64-bit interface na.

u need gyud at least 4gig ram to run a 64bit OS properly...
