My frend bought an AMD Sempron Socket 754 setup recently, but before he made the purchase the store technicians tried to convince him to buy an Intel Socket 775 (either p4 or celeron d) setup instead, arguing that it was much easier to install Windows XP Pro (non XP 64 Variant) on it compared to a Sempron.
(1) !!!!?

How could that be? I admit that I've only tired installing Windows XP on 32-bit computers, but is that really a sound/reasonable argument?
(2) Anyways I just wanted to know among Istoryans

who have a socket 754 setup, if they have encountered problem installing Windows XP on their units?
(3) I'd also like to know if it is really necessary to install Windows XP with SP2 on a socket 754 or is it OK to just install Windows XP with SP1?
(4) Also what other drivers to I need to install besides the usal mobo drivers for sound, audio, LAN and even USB (although, IIRC, starting SP1 no USB drivers need be installed)?
Thanks for any help guys.
BTW my friends rig:

Sempron 2800+ Socket 754
MSI Mobo with VIA chipset (will look up the model number later)
512MB DDR RAM + shared VGA
40GB HDD
15" LCD Monitor
Built in Sound, LAN, USB, SATA
EDIT: It seems he ordered a SATA hardrive, so it looks like I should be doing the so called "press f6 method and then insert floppy with SATA drivers."
