i7-920 should be around that price now right? if not the i5-750/760.
just remember that choosing a route might cost the same cpu wise, the overall cost in buying the whole system might be more expensive on one rather than the other depending on which chipset you choose.
The 920 route for example is the more expensive platform because the mobos and RAMs are generally more expensive on the x58 platform than the p55/h55.

i think kuwang ra imo budget if brand new den corei imo proc sir,
intel core i3 - P4995
intel dh55pj - P3595
ddr3 2gb kingston - P2095
kana tulo lapas na 10k,
maybe dualcore masulod gud ana boss pero crt na ang monitor nimo.
