depende sa budget nimo pre, if for landscape nindot gyud ang wide angle, or ultra wide angle. same ta ug cam, d90 but i used tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 to shoot landscape/nature. so far kontinto raman kaau ko sa performance and sharpness sa akong tokina. but if dili ka ganahan ug 3rd party na lens, naay nikon 14-24mm, about x3 ang price higher from tokina.
for portrait, ok na kaau ng 50mm, but if money is not an issue for you, try checking on 24-70mm f/2.8 or 70-200mm f/2.8pero sipa sad kaayu ang presyo ani na mga lens .
I feel na you are starting pah, just stick to your 18-105.. it's a good lens
you may try tamron 17-50 f2.8 with VC (vibration control) its a constant 2.8 aperture.
you may want to see the comparison here
but your nikon 18-105 has it all...
or you can try this one Nikon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Nikkor Lens (ultra wide angle zoom lens)
Any lens will do. Your 18-105mm is enough for landscape.
17-55 2.8 is sweet for landscape and portraiture.
but the kitlens is more than enough. pag learn lang usa.
if u have plans on going FF... then skip the 17-55 and invest on the 24-70 2.8.
