Iyaha ra sad to opinion oi, no need to make a thread about it to inspire anger. Don't worry because Manilenos know the truth about Cebuanos and their english-speaking abilities. I'm studying in Manila now and people here always ask me why Cebuanos are good in English. We don't have to be over-sensitive to every issue and every statement made by different personalities, take it with a grain of salt because I'm sure most of those statements aren't meant to be construed to the letter. Pasagdi siya kung pataka siyag panaway, siya ra ang mu-gawas na ignorante kaayo.

Let's stop magnifying every negative comment or criticism thrown our way. After that part in the news clip where Gloria Diaz was interviewed, did you not listen to what the UP professor said? He said getting an interpreter is not to say that Bicolanos (or Cebuanos, Negrense, Igorot, or whoever) do not know how to speak in english. Ms. Mexico man gani daw, kamao man sad to mu-english, pero pag-final question namugas gyud siya, nag-interpreter gyud para mas maayo iyang pag-express sa iyang answer. And if you think about it, it may even buy the contestant some time to think on what answer to give.

And, sige ta ug palag kung sawayon atong english, pero sure gyud mo nga maayo kaayo tang tanan mu-english?

lol...tinoud na sulti ni gloria, generally speaking (ispiking). mga bisaya gahi jud ug dila, mao na ato naandan, nothing wrong with that.
    practice lang sa a. e, i, o u. lol.
this is very evident when you encounter students from public schools.

but don't allow yourselves to be involve in petty (regionalsm) bashing.
