Hi Everyone!

I recently came back to Cebu from being in the US for 2 years and have become a bit of a live music fan over there.

I dont know whether anyone here has ever heard of a band called Soul Mafia, but I saw one of their gigs at Chico's Grill in Talamban a couple of weeks ago. They were really good.

The place itself was a bit dark (created the mood, I dont know) but, the band were great. They were playing with another local band too, who were also fun.

What I liked about Soul Mafia was that they did songs that I hadnt heard here in Cebu before. Both before I lefted for the US and since Ive been back. It was a really different sound. One of the girl singers did an amazing rendition of To Love Somebody. We were all singing along to it. And the American (I think he's American!??) lead singer was awesome, and a bit of a cutie, too. hehehe.

I think that its a good idea if musicians from other places in the world can come together with Filipinos, it means we are all, at the end of the day, the same, no matter where we are born. And these guys really loved playing together, you could really see it.

Is there a website for bands here in Cebu? Can I stay up to date with these guys and other bands that play here regularly?

Look forward to seeing you all at Outpost (we'll be doing an hour long set - maybe more, who knows!) next Friday, and then the following Saturday (23rd) at Chico's, where we will perform two sets.

Any ideas for October gigs anyone? What places to do think need a greasy slab of soul served up to them?
