CEBU, Philippines - A postman in Talisay City is being investigated after a resident complained about losing two 10,000 Yen bills last Tuesday reportedly placed in a letter sent to her by a friend in Japan.
Natalie Apostol, 37, single, of 131 San Miguel, barangay Linao, of the city reported the incident to the Talisay City Police Station in barangay Poblacion.
Apostol pointed to Jerson Juarez, of legal age, and a resident of barangay Lagtang, Talisay, as the postman assigned to barangays San Roque and Linao.
Based on her report to the police, Apostol said her Japanese friend Katsumi Somega of J1-81 HA Yatima City, Yatemata Cheba sent her two 10,000 Yen bills which he reportedly inserted inside a notebook which he placed inside the mailing envelope addressed to her.
The mail reached her including the notebook inside it, but Apostol alleged the money was no longer there.

City postmaster Beneto Soria said Apostol has already lodged a complaint to her office regarding the matter, and has been forwarded to the district office for investigation.
Soria said sending money via mail is prohibited.
The case of Apostol is however not new in the post office of Talisay.
The past months, residents have reported not only losing cash sent by relatives but also packages. (FREEMANNEWS)
