Two warring sisters embattles in bitter rivalry in both career and love. Victoria (Gretchen Barretto) and Gelay (Bea Alonso) lived separate lives only to be reunited in the turbulent world of Fashion. Victoria is into high end couture fashion while Gelai is in Divisoria fashion that caters to the masses. Things turned for the worse when Gelai enters the world of couture. For Victoria, the world is too small for the two of them. Will the sisters reconcile and bring down one common enemy who is responsible for the death of their mother?

Magkaribal teleserye was supposed to be the first teleserye for both sisters Gretchen Barretto and Claudine Barretto. Due to unforseable circumstances, Claudine backed out from the series and transferred to her home station’s rival network GMA7. Bea was casted as Claudine’s replacement. From the looks of things, Bea is a perfect fit for the role of Angela/Gelay.

I think Gretchen’s acting is not her best. It doesn’t even come close to her sterling performance in last year’s Maalaala Mo Kaya for which she bagged a PMPC Star Award Best Actress trophy for her performance as a married woman who had an illicit affair with a town mayor (Phillip Salvador).

Too bad Gretchen’s high-priced wardrobe, accessories and shoes often upstage her that you hardly notice the pain of Victoria Valera as your eyes feast on her lavish collection.

Not that the fashionistas are complaining. But first, with her image as a fashionista firmly established, Gretchen should pay attention to her acting, or be resigned to being “eaten up alive” by Angel in their scenes together.
