STOP: C000021 UNKNOWN HARD ERROR

anybody please help me...

i have a hard time finding the root cause of this error..

i had a windows xp pro edition installed in my 40GB hdd, that was partition into two.
i reformat it to clean up and then (re)install the windows xp cd but after the initial setup there was a blue screen saying STOP: C000021 UNKNOWN HARD ERROR
\Systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll
i tried to check the hdd, Ide cable, the memory but still error occurs, i even tried other winXP installer.
i also tried to install win98 in the C drive and there's no prob and then when the winXP it came out again, i install winXP in the other partition the D drive and it works. i don't know y dile sya ma install sa drive C.
wla ko'y g add na other hardware sa slot since the day nagpalit ko PC aside from the memory, when i upgrade to 512MB.
i've getting a hard time looking for the right bug..

fdisk balik imo hdd bai then start balik ug format sa imo drive

i've tried it many times with different WinXP CD but still the same, considering na formatted na ang hard disk..

fdisk balik imo hdd bai then start balik ug format sa imo drive

tabang beh.. i tried reformat and repartition sa disk but the error mao gihapon nothings change, so what i did i tried to install win98 den ok sya after sa setup ako dayon g install ang WinXP, it was a successful but wen i tried to install the motherboard drivers "can't load...." dko ka install ani but ok paman ako CD..

any other ideas unsa pa dapat angay buhaton??

ngutana lng ko sa tanan XP os imo gi install naay service pack 2? kung wala bro install windows XP wid SP2

yup, with SP2 ako g install na WinXP..
