" What will you do if you have a busted IC alternator "?

Hi guys,

Just would like to ask your opinion on this one.

I have a busted or damaged alternator from my L300 van.

I know the most logical thing to do here is to replace it with a new one, but is it also reliable if I have it repaired instead?

If so,

can you give me suggestions as to which repair shop I can send this to?

We don't need to discuss about whether the alternator is indeed damaged or not because it really is.

I had this experience before, and my electrician said that it is the IC, tried buying these expensive IC 3 times and it's not working or the IC tend to get damaged after a couple of days. I instead purchased a new alternator instead and it worked fine for months until I had a really bad day last month wherein I drove to a flooded street somewhere in Tipolo, Mandaue. The water seems to submerge the alternator because the moment I ran into the flooded waters, I began to hear noises coming from the belt and all of the magic eyes in my dashboard turned on.

After a couple of weeks, I noticed I did not see my battery and heater magic eyes to be lighted up anymore when I start up, and I was not able to start the van after a few hours.

These symptoms are the same ones I had during my first trouble regarding the alternator. It's just so stupid of me by driving through a flooded street just for fear of becoming tardy at work. hehe.

Anyway, hope I can get your thoughts on whether I can have the option of having this alternator repaired to a good shop so I won't buy a new one anymore.

replace with a new one...lisod na ipa repair labi na IC ang damaged...next time dont pass flooded streets...it will damaged your car

replace alternator..better buy d surplus one around 2k-2.5k..

if mahalan ka sa i.c bro.. pwede raman na nimu ilisan ug katong voltage regulator.. mas barato pana sa i.c type... ok ra pod ang performance ..basta expert ang imong kuryentixian ...

sa aidan or two way..naka buy ko dha last year pa pro till no ok pa ako napalit..testingan man man pud na nila dili man cguro na cla mohatag f defectiv na..

dali ra na bai paliti lang na ug surplus nga Alte ug bag- o nga external type nga voltage regulator.. mao na ako gihimo sa ako de gas nga l300

@Nortz = limot ko, mao sad diay nang gibuhat sa akong electrician sa una pero unfortunately wala ni work out kay wala jud ni karga. That's why ni palit nalang jud ko ug bag o.

@ gio_cebu = thanks sa suggestions bai, pwede ko mangutana asa na dapit ang aidan ug two way? or kung ok lang, naa kay number nila?

@rhandy = u mean, palit jud entiro alternator assembly pero kato nang external type nga with voltage regulator og dili na katong IC type?

try sa mga surplus shop. nka palit ko sauna ug ic sa alternator sa corolla nmo sauna

replace IC and use external voltage regulator. it is cheap and easy to fix the next time you have trouble. better check your wiring too, one major cause of damage IC's.
