Default disable "View available wireless network"

    Guys,

    Here is the scenario:

We have 3-4 APs in the hotel, we want our employees to connect to Linksys wireless router only because we will configure it to block some sites.

    Problem is:

They can easily disconnect from Linksys and connect to those existing APs.

Ive searched the net and disabling the Wireless zero config is not an option coz it wont detect the linksys anymore...does it?

Mybe option would be to hide the other wireless AP's ssid from each single officecomputer. but setting the Ap to hide its own ssid is not an option coz our guests needs to see it.

    IMHO:
    - don't give administrative rights to the login of the users (employees). without the admin rights, they won't be able to modify their network connections
    - configure their machines to automatically connect to your preferred AP

i hope i'm right and this actually works... hehehe

    My best solution:

You can BLOCK their computer(MAC Address) from accessing the AP.

Parehas-parehas pod ni'g hotel ako gitrabahuan.
And I've been doing this for 3 years now. I only 5 allow computers to access my office AP. The rest must connect to the common AP's that i've setup for them free.

Most routers got this feature. Do research for the type of router you have. Or check the manual.

bro, laptop ang gamit sa imo mga employees?
if not, coneect their pc using wired connection to the linksys.

if laptops, ang suggestion ni jackdi is the solution.

They can still switch networks irregardless of logon man siguro, mapa admin or dili. Not sure though.

Toinks! 10 ka APs nga sudlang og filtering for 10 laptops!
    ...too painful to do tinood!

By the way, just wonderin', why man dili nimo sila gusto pa-connect sa Guests' AP's?
If the company is paying for the same internet connection cost, what's the issue?
....just wondering lang.... you dont need to answer this.

    **
And one more thing, ang imong mga AP's, are they connected to an internet server in the office? Or individual AP's jud siya?

Kay if connected siya to the server, you can block them one time from there. If dili nimo sila i-block, you can track their "online transactions" and issue memo against unauthorized surfing.

Otherwise, if individual stand-alone AP's na, the painful way is i think the best way.
One time ra pod bitaw ni nimo buhaton.
I type lang sa notepad daan nga ila MAC address, then copy-paste.

    ----------------
At least, diri sa ako gitrabahuan, dili mo-NAG ang ako nga officemates.
Kay ako ra man ang gi-issue'han og laptop! So, i do as i please....
