hey guys good day.
Na-ingganyo ko mu-raise ug scorp as a pet pero wala q kabalo asa mag start.
The only thing I know about scorp is that they eat crickets...
Sa mga Scorp raisers jan, tabang palihog.
I just dont know where to start...

basic info about scorps:
what you need:
Enclosure: enclo size will depend on the size of your scorpion, minimum is 3x the size of your scorpion LxWxH so kung 1" imu scorp at least 3x3x3
Substrate: cocopeat for forest species, sand for dessert species
diet - captive bred crickets, roaches, super worms, meal worms etc preferably
Terms:
Molt - is when a scorpion sheds its old exoskeleton in order to grow bigger
Instar - is the period between molts. 1st instar - when born, 2nd instar - 1st molt, usually up to 7 to 8 instar. mature na and ready to breed
Venom - scorpions use venom to paralyze their prey, scorpions have different venom levels from level 1 to 5
level 1 is just like a bee sting while level 5 can possibly kill humans
you can search the internet for more informations, just use google
and suggestion: start with level 1 species to gain experience in keeping scorpions. examples are: heterometrus longimanus and Pandinus imperator
saka.. ^_^
scorpion growth has a lot of factors like
Species - different species different growth rate
Feeding - depends on how you regularly feed your scorpion
Temperature - hot/humid = short/fast molts, cold = long molts
Age - the higher the instar the longer the molts
usually it takes about a year for a 2nd instar scorpion to reach 7th instar, there are some that matures faster depending on the captive conditions that your provide..
example of gaps between molts: 2nd to 3rd instar - 1 month, 3rd to 4th instar -1.5 to 2.5 months
aw ok cge2 i'll find myself a longimanus for a start lang... any idea where i can buy a langimanus na cheap ang young pa para i can see the scorps growth and eventually also see my progress in raising these scorps... thanks a lot, this convinced me very well to raise scrops... thanks a lot talaga...
