    Default PCOS Machine ISSUES

...with the very recent news of the many failures of the PCOS Machines, is it still worth-it to push the Automated Election? Are we trying to push through this long-termed plan prematurely?

...the recent news ignited various reactions from different government sectors, political leaders, prominent individuals and the entire Filipino Citizenry.

...some are still positive, others are still optimistic, most are worried and majority are pessimistic!

what would be your stand on this? shall we still push through the 2010 Election as scheduled on May 10? or just perhaps move it to a different date OR perchance, switch back to the Manual Elections?

...for us to have a reliable and dependable Elections, i would prefer them to MOVE it to a different date. for now, focus and concentrate on solving the issues of the PCOS Machines and not prematurely, so to speak, to meet the TARGET!!!

    that's one thing!

karon kay ilang rason kay lahi daw ang column or line sa national and local candidates... the cards were only configured to count the national candidates... mao to sa local, d mabasa ug sakto... good luck sa election!

PCOS machines in Palawan declared faulty - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos
808 poll machines in Batangas encounter problems - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos

these are indeed very alarming and election is less than a week to go.

i do believe they can reconfigure the pcos machines to recognize votes for local candidates. the question is how fast can they do it. i hope they can do it without postponing the elections because that would certainly push those paranoid candidates over the edge.

if the elections will be postponed i hope we get to sue/sack those responsible for the mess, TIM and comelec officials alike.

at this very early, COMELEC should admit that even with all their efforts, the time remaining is not enough to fix this major issue... let's all cross our fingers!

I remain positive, still, despite news that some of the machines gave and returned negative results during mock polls in certain precincts in our country. Reports only disclosed the ones that malfunctioned but it failed to note that ones that worked, if there were, only a few.

Sometimes, I hate watching the news because they sound discouraging instead of encouraging the people to keep a positive outlook of the automated election. We are part of this election and the success of it also depends on the Filipinos.

So, we should not be discouraged about this.

this means that ang local elections is manual counting and ang national elections if automated.
