I only got one tip: Review all dead MLMs and what they have in common, then do a comparative study with the present crop of MLMs.

You'll be amazed at what you'll discover, especially when you dig deep into the names at the top of the so-called business of the millenium.

...check the track record of the company... and how many people are already successful in it... if only a hundred has been successful then i guess its not very doable at all... but if a thousands have been millionaires, then that's something u shud look at...

Better check how many at the bottom of the pyramid are losing too. You'll be amazed to discover that their losses are counted as profits at the top. Without recruitment, MLM is dead.
