    Default Siquijor Island

there's this urban legend about this mystical island.. if you mention the place - Siquijor - you'll receive mixed reactions. some experiences are otherworldly like witchcrafts, "barang" etc.. others are about mythical creatures like "sigbin", "agta", "manananggal" etc etc.. and there's a lot more that this island is associated with. occurrences and events that are somewhat unexplainable..

any of you guys have a first hand experience of the above mentioned locale or stories from people you know who are from there? accounts from somebody who've witnessed anything unusual about the place and it's people? maybe everything's a myth, maybe not.. this is your place to share those experiences..

I heard a lot of stories regarding Siquijor - barang and the likes. Tinood gyud diay na? But say for example, ang imong ibarang duol sa Ginoo, i think mo deflect ra man siguro na. It might boomerang on the person who inflicted that barang to the other person. Still, i think its evil. Prayer is the only powerful tool.

this is Siquijor and I don't believe to the Horror stories of Sequijor. These stories always preceded Siquijor's natural beauty. Tales of witchcraft and supernatural phenomenon, repeatedly documented on television and publications, lend credence to the island's mystical appeal.

"Tourism is yet to be a major industry in Siquijor. Since Holy Week is traditionally a long holiday for most Filipinos, I was expecting to acquaint myself with fellow Filipino travelers during my stay in the island.

Interestingly, most of the travelers I bumped into were foreigners, who sing no end of praises for Siquijor's wonderful beaches. Now, there really is no big mystery about that."

It's just the same with our areas, we still have more than the mystery wrapped Siquijor. everywhere you go, witchcraft, barang2x are still there.

    MYSTERY NO MORE for SIQUIJOR

i have this very close friend, he helped me in things i could never count. he sees, hear, feel and can drive other beings away. he came from a line of "mananambal" and his grandparents are from SIQUIJOR. they somehow know how to counter aswang, bad spirits, you name it. the place siquijor is really a nice place, the scenery and the beach but there's this one town, his grandfather grew up nga all the people living there are actually "aswang". i never had the chance to asked him the actual name of the place but i know that this is the part of siquijor in which tourist never visits. this is what happend, deathwish ni sa iyang grandfather to go home sa iyang natawhan and he wanted to die there.

so, ila nalang gi tagaan chance sa iyang lola, they travelled by "habal-habal" for about 5 hours or more padung na jud sa bukid. luya na kau iyang lolo and the sky is about to turn dark na when they all sensed something after them. so, ila gipadali ang driver kai lisud naman if maabtan sila ug late sa road, a lot things happened on their way as if dili sila paadtuun sa ilang destination. they met this baboy daw nga nagbakya, then naa daw gigantic na dog sa may riverbank, then naa sige tingug nga horse nga feel nila nara sa ilang luyo. being the people that they are, they were able to counter these things, naa daw na sila yamyam. when they finally arrive sa town, they were at the town's entrance when all of the light sa town turned off, mind you, wala electricity na diri. the natives are all using "lampara". just imagine everything went dark altogether pag abot jud nila sa entrance and all the dogs were howling. i think that's their way of telling them that they are not welcome sa town kai ilang family daw kalahi ug mananambal and kato nga town kai puro aswang. he didnt really give me the details but wala daw sila ni stay, niuli ra sila dayun and his lolo died sa road on their way home, they never met a single thing nga magbother nila after that.
