You guys! I need your help!
I am doing a documentary on yaya's!

I just need some questions answered for information purposes.

1. Why do people become a yaya?
2. About how many percent of people become a yaya?
3. How well are they paid?
4. What is their condition here in the Philippines?
5. What becomes of the yaya, after service?
6. What are the benefits of becoming a yaya?
7. What are the disadvantages of becoming a yaya?
8. Is their anything we need to know about being a yaya?

mas maayo pa bro.. mag ask jud ka sa mga taw nga nag yaya or sa mga taw nga naay mga yaya.. or maybe.. find out an organization nga nag handle sa ingon ani nga mga concerns regarding yaya.. adto cguro nimo makita like percentage.. etc etc..

suggestion lang.. wa koy ika dagdag kung d ang first question ra cguro...

a. financial problems
b. way laing nahibaw-an nga trabaho tungod sa education... wa ka grad bisan elementary..

wala mi yaya o helper pro AFAIK gamay ra ni ila sweldo dn almost working 24hours, dugay mkatulog inig ka gbie dn sau kau momata inig ka buntag..benefits or after service murag wala sad tingali

We asked several maids, and they seem not to care about knowing the benefits of being a yaya or the disadvantages..

All they mostly say is that "Para naa koi ma puy-an og para dili ko gutumon kada adlaw"

Monetary reasons jud main reason bro..And then wa na sila lain nahibaw an trabaho.

1. Why do people become a yaya?
- no other employment opportunities and a desperate need to earn money

2. About how many percent of people become a yaya?
- probably related to the percentage of the population who are daughter of poor families

3. How well are they paid?
- not by very much

4. What is their condition here in the Philippines?
- financial wise, better abroad. safety wise, better here. there are always exceptions though.

5. What becomes of the yaya, after service?
- moves to another yaya gig. lucky ones who find a good employer can get an education and move up.

6. What are the benefits of becoming a yaya?
- board & lodging free, work is basically housework, SSS payments are required, no taxes pay is not taxed to hell

7. What are the disadvantages of becoming a yaya?
- low pay, little chance of moving to better position, assured conflict with family and work life

8. Is their anything we need to know about being a yaya?
- how to do housework properly, how to take care of babies/children, how to be a part of a family

why become a yaya? 2 reasons i can think of...

1. for the money...
2. availability to get another job...

that's about it... plastic na ayo nang "i want to serve"....
