    Default Neighborhood ISP Anyone?

this is a continuing project from last month. As of the moment our network have been online for quite sometime now. with at least 10 users sharing the 1.5MB bandwidth.

Now we are planning to expand the NISP system, getting a new line and same bandwidth. i talked to the people where i got my bandwidth and said they would help set it up. If you guys out there would like to make your own NISP system, i will be glad to help!
this is applicable to Villages. We plan to put one up in talamban, but we are trying to make sure that there is at least 40 people who would like to sign up.

at 400meters lang around 14k for the outdoor AP rated at 200mw 108Mbps it is and AP, repeater, client, brige with WDS function. i have tested this and would work on PTP PTMP at 3.2 kms LOS. but for a NISP this will work great

this is much cheaper than than the LINKSYS outdoor ap rated at 100mw (check out linksys site) the unit has a built in 16db antenna, 25 mts cable UTP, a power injector, patch cable and ac power supply. all you need is the tower or ordinary 1" pipe to mount it. I have shared my 1.5 Mb to my neighbors who were willing to share the cost of maintaining the bandwidth for a fraction of the cost. No sign up fee, no lock in period. But remember ! prepaid ang service. the only thing if you have a neighbor who is hogging the bandwidth will surely drop the speed of your other subscribers. so chose your clients well and inform them of your terms and conditions. if he doesnt follow, then you can simply take his mac address off the system.

for those who want to make their own AP or convert one into an outdoor. the only restraint is yout ANTENNA cost. if you paln to use the original antenna of the equipment you have will not last long outdoors. A 8dbi outdoor antenna is around 9k. but Linksys came out with the diversity antenna of 7dbi which is cheap but for indoor use. if you can fine something to cover it, make it as thin as possible.
when using diversity antenna you power output will cut down in half. You can set LINKSYS to use only 1 antenna, to have a maximum range on your signal.

hacker, i have a linksys wrt54g v2.2 and the linksys 9dbi upgrade antenna. can this be used? convert to outdoor nalang.? for 14K its really cheap. what do the other end(subscribers) need? just the wireless NIC? or needed pud nila CPE ?

you have a premade (converted) wrt54g outdoor with diversity antenna ? and its for 14k? ready to use? flashed with non-linksys firmware? can this baby really reach 400 meter range? nindota gud.
