Default what LCD monitor are you using?

i hope it's ok to ask this question here. coz i know people (photographers) here are particular w color accuracy, so i want to know what LCD monitor they're using. i know TN panels are crap but there's nothing else better i could find here in cebu, at least from my search w the known computer stores.

unsa man maayo na LCD monitor to buy, mga 22~24" na available locally? Thank you in advance.

I'm no expert, but I always hear wedding photogs here in Cebu talk about the monitors from Mac to be the most consistent. Try asking Crashburn, he has this really big lcd monitor, I think it's Mac. If this is true, then there are plenty at the istore in ayala.

thank you sir, i remember Crashburn mentioning Mac to my similar query before in another thread but it's too expensive for my pocket . those Macs are a beauty.

maybe, what is the best among the craps then? lol. i'm just your casual p&s user so can't justify getting a really expensive monitor like those macs even at half its price .

there are reasons why these kind of monitors are expensive. you can google up "IPS panel" and or "TN panel".

most LCD monitors under 40k are using TN Panels. Very good for gaming and HD movies but definitely not for professional color work.

IPS = not really designed for gaming, but it is more on color accuracy. google is your friend.

    i hope this helps!

PS. NEC, Dell, Eizo... some brand examples aside from Apple.

thank you sir. yes, i'm quite aware of the panel types hence my TN reference in my OP. the thing is i can't find any local stores carrying other type of panels than TN (aside from mac, of course). the sales personnels don't even know a thing when asked . i've been to many local stores but no luck still. I asked and I have model numbers too.

I thought i get some feedbacks here kay color critical mga tawo diri basin na lang baratuhon na LCD basta decent color rendition lang na pasado sa mga photographers here o kana gigamit nila but surprisingly it seems the photographers here are secretive . no one's divulging the makes of their monitors. or maybe, i'm just too naive, everyone here is using a mac?

if anyone in the know, where i can find good/decent lcd monitor & the model numbers, please do share.

    thank you in advance!

there you go, thanks bro. good monitor you've got there . the dell 2209wa is the best bang for the buck as per my reading, but i can't find it locally. it's just going under $300 in the US. this is the one i'm actually after for. i also have other model numbers from HP & Viewsonics, but the same can't be found local.

where did u get your 2007wfp before?
