Self-study. If you acquire "php manual CHM", it's a file compiled documentation free to download, all you need is there. Experimentation , testing locally and experience, will be your best teacher. Training is useless if you don't know how to experiment on your own.

i highlly recommend XAMPP kaysa wamp

    kay naay nay:
    - Apache
    - FTP (FileZilla)
    - MySQL
    - Mail Server (Mercury)
    - TomCat Addons

my usuall setup at work, i used my laptop as my test server.... accessing it thru ftp... and i can even send mail from my localhost

i can even access it thru domain name, which is more practical if you really want to replicate live server environment...

i usually access my test server as http:/ /test.dev instead of http:/ /localhost/test or any preferred name i want

    the best....

yup I agree with mr. salbahis. It's better to use xampp if you are on a windows platform...
