“Mixed Politics in Favor of Jonas and the Mandaue Elderly
March 17, 2010 by
Team Mandaue
Governor Gwen Garcia announced that she will prioritize the welfare of senior citizens in Mandaue City even though some of her supporters have suggested that she drop the plan. After all, it IS election season and such a move is perceived to be favorable to re-electionist Mayor Jonas Cortes, Rep. Nerissa Soon Ruiz’s rival in the mayoralty race. Garcia, by the way, is backing Ruiz.
Garcia explained that she decided not to heed the advice of some supporters (
now what public servant would have the heart to block any assistance to senior citizens?) because she did not feel it was right to let the senior citizens suffer.
Speaking in behalf of the beneficiaries of such a move, Mayor Cortes expressed his gratitude to Garcia for giving importance to the elderly in the city.”
Do you think only the elderly people are grateful of Mayor Jonas? Everyone who can read this will be very grateful to him even if you are not old enough or even you are still young to vote or young at age. What he did is a genuine service, who thinks of others before self.
If Mayor Jonas wasnt given a chance to be the Mayor of Mandaue, will there be a chance for the elderly people to be given importance? Thanks and credits to Mayor Jonas Cortes. If it wouldnt be him, who would you think who could care the elderly? Thats what we need in the politics who dont think for himself first but to others. Without him, Gov. Gwen Garcia will never bother thinking bout this, and even any other else who are now involved with this because of what Mayor Jonas did. Its a grateful act on what Mayor Jonas did.
Politicians should run because they want to fix things and not run because they want to fix his own self, thats greedy, and hungry for power and money even fame.
