Thread: Idle Government

    Default Idle Government

Our Government is in an Idle Mode. Its been passive in its duty to develop our country.

What was the biggest project that this government gave/planned for the people?
The Philippine National Broadband Network (US$329 million), Department of Agriculture Fertiliser Scam (P725 million)?
I cant name any project that could give help to people that does not have any controversial issue.

In India their government is focusing their attention in Labor Intensive Industries.

Our government seems rely on tourism as its solution to our labor problems.
It allocates Php 22,300,000,000 for CDF/PDAF of senators and congressmen.
Which is spent on repairing a road that is not really in need of repairs, on overpriced computers that is given to schools, on overpriced teaching materials like table of elements and stuff.

I think the government should start spending wisely and stop selling the state owned corporations(WTF, if private companies would buy it then its profitable).
Build Factories/Processing Plants/Recycling Plants, etc(to create jobs) and invest in the power generation business(cause its very profitable, why give the profit to Aboitiz, to San Miguel Corp.?).
We have a stupid government, they sell their power plants to private companies and loose the income that it generates(aw, sorry they dont generate income cause the government doesn't know how to handle things), and in turn increases our taxes(vat and etc) because they cant find any other means to generate income.

The government should also stop giving hand-outs to the poor, better if they find ways to give them jobs than give them my tax payments.

I think CDF's should be stopped, congressmen and senators use their CDF's as a way to make themselves look good, they fix roads and put their face on a billboard beside it, they give classroom with their name on it. Everything they do is either to make themselves look good or to fatten their wallets. And beside congressmen and senators are there to create laws, they are not there to build classrooms.

this is sadly true... politics in Pinas is actually synonymous with corruption people who wanna get rich the easy way venture into politics and when they do have projects, they brand it boldly with their names... "done thru the efforts of this and that..." baga au nawng! its not like they are using their own money, its the taxpayers money NOT theirs.. haizt..

idle? total? grabe sad ka harsh... naaman lagi mga bag-o dalan ug mga bridge karn nanga-tukod. semento ra tuod na nga proyekto pero dako kaayo na tabang.. SRP now is a very big example.

compare us to india? they may have this big buildings etc yet they still lack the resource to move due to rampant corruption (grabe pa sa ato) ug grabeh ka hugaw(mas grabe pa sa ato).

India has a lot of problems but they are doing something about it, they have developed their Agriculture, Infrastructure, and their Exports, they know how to focus their resources on big projects(like their planned city and stuff). SRP is good but it was a local initiative, sorry I haven't properly explain what I really mean by government, what I'm focusing on is the National Government. The National Government has only Roads to brag about, which doesn't really create much jobs.

I believe that the government should prioritise job creation and should stop corruption(we cant really prove most of the government corrupt practices cause the branches of government protect each other). The government should gamble on huge projects from time to time. If foreign investors don't want to invest here then to hell with them, we should be independent in solving our countries needs. The Arroyo Administration is very dependent on foreigners to solve much of its problems.

    More on India.
    -----------------------------------

We are better on some things against India but in terms of managing the economy they are better. They have a bit higher unemployment rate but that's because their population is way much bigger than what we have.
