Dapat ba dyud reverse osmosis gamiton na water para sa planted tank?
depende sa imu plants, but usually pag planted naa man driftwood which can also helo lower the ph.
if reverse osmosis for lowering the ph ok ra kayo if wala
mas maayo cguro sir e mix nimu ang R/O water sa MCWD/deep well water.
Sir depende jud sa plants nga imo plano. If you are targeting soft water loving plants da best ni. Based on my experience mga 80% cgura sa mga plants used in the hobby today prefers or do good in hardwater or local water nato. few ra jud ang softwater loving like Baby tears (Hemianthus umbrosum), tonina species, Blyxa japonica. you can browse sa net a list of plants based on their prefered water requirements pud. Hope this helps bai. Happy planting!
to add, Reverse osmosis filters remove essential trace elements such as calcium, potassium and magnesium wich are essential nutrients for plant...and remove minerals for fish.
yes if you want to keep the really exotic plants... but chances are, if you bought the plants here, they will do fine in hard water.
Just dont automagically blame hard water if the plants die because its most likely a co2 issue or something else.
But for argument's sake and if you are loaded and dont care about spending money for RO (this includes your CO2 footprint) then i would suggest a mixture of RO and deepwell/MCWD that will give you 4-6 kH. this will sound feasible in a nano but not in bigger tanks.
