Default To everyone: A must read before choosing the next president

COURTESY FROM SOMEONE WHO FORWARDED TO ME BY EMAIL... JUST WANT TO SHARE IT TO FILIPINO PEOPLE.

    Dear Everyone,

In a little over two months we will be electing a new president. My choice did not come about on impulse, nor on first impressions. I studied the candidates over the past 4 months, listening to them on forums, in speeches, reading up on them. I have made my choice, on the basis of credentials, competence, character, charisma and platform.

He is the man that Arroyo archcritic Bishop Oscar Cruz endorsed as the best of them all, in terms of competence, capability and character. The same one who the Fil-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, Alfonso Uy has also called the best to lead the country, from having observed his effective, methodical leadership without seeking media mileage in the Ondoy aftermath. The man whom PCCI Donald Dee just yesterday cited as the most impressive, and with platform and answers that stood out against the other aspirants.

He shines at every forum because his answers reveal the depth of his knowledge and preparation for the job, and also because of all the candidates, he has consistently chosen the path of positive campaigning, refusing to malign his opponents. All the while he has remained humble.

He is no Arroyo stooge. People angry at the perceived corruption in the Arroyo gov't dislike him because he refuses to cast stones at her. But this man has said "ang mabuti ay bayaran ng mabuti. If it is evil, let justice prevail." He is truly his father's son. Gilbert Sr. was the SS administrator during the Marcos regime. In his steadfast hands, SSS grew and was the only agency that Imelda and Marcos could not touch. Yes, there are still men of honor in our gov't. And the son is one such.

As DND secretary he reformed the process of bidding so that private sector representatives would oversee all biddings, ensuring transparency as the Bishops and Businessmen's Conference of the Phil. prescribed. A friend of mine, a Cebuano lawyer practising Manila attests to this fact in citing that his American client, who won the contract to supply multimillion pesos worth of equipment to the AFP could only be awed by how this man never so much as asked for a single centavo. And becuase the boss was straight, the underlings were straight. He is thus esteemd by the rank and file of the DND. While other candidates vow to do this when they are elected, this man has done it, and quietly while DND secretary for over 2 years.

His started on the route to leadership when quite young, as President of the Central Luzon Kabataang Baranggay from age 15 to 21. As 3-term congressman, he served his district well, usnig his CDF to provide infrasturctures, cementing all road,s electrifing all but one of his baranggays, repairing schoolhouses, while priincipally authoring 113 bills, 6 of which became laws.

Much has been said of his brilliance, he being a bar topnotcher, a UP dean's medalist, a Harvard masters degree holder. But most of all it is in his sterling character that i believe our country has hope for a new start. Excellence and humility are a rare combine. But all necessary in one who would unite and be a healing President.

Please, kindly listen to the segment of his dialogue with Pastor Quiboloy on Sunshine Network. Hear the man for yourselves. You will not regret it.

like John McCain, it's a bit hard when you are preceded by a "kawatan" by most people...

and like the guy that wrote this, i don't just choose anyone at random or just what i can see, heard, etc... and that led me to vote Gordon-Bayani tandem....

they might not be other people's choice but because of what i have researched (like the guy here), what i have seen, heard, etc., and most importantly, what this nation NEEDS, i vote these two characters...

for me lang, gibo is good but not quite enough to be the next president. the fact also that he is the standard bearer of arroyo i would doubt he can go against all of arroyo's demands. being a DND is not quite enough experience to be a strong president and also being a candidate of a very known corrupt president beside her. people just couldn't help to think that he has "utang na loob" for the person opening the gate to be the next president. he could be in the senate and wait for his time but now its not yet. we just elected a president who has the same level of brilliance and intellect like him or even more but look what SHE did. indeed the FIRST FAMILY of CORRUPTION and HER SECRETARIES left and right with graft and corruption issues and not just issues but guilty to the eyes of the filipino people which she could have controlled and stopped by being a president. and not anyone was being guilty and NOT EVEN THE FORMER PRESIDENT WHO WAS PROVEN GUILTY HAD GONE TO PRISON!
