    Default HD 5870 question

I'm planning to buy a new vc (hopefully)

WHich is better and mas bang for the buck?

XFX HD 5870 XXX Edition or anybrand nga 5870 nga normal ra.

Ang XFX 5870 kay overclocked na.

    tnx

a regular 5870 would do. overclocking it would mean that you should add cooling units to your PC. Its an added and unnecessary cost. make sure that you buy your 5870 from a reputable brand or manufacturer.

mas bang for the buck ang normal lang pero overclocking with normal heatsinks or stock ones makes it a bang for you pero if di gani bang ghapon pero mas bang ang overclocked pero factory overclocked has enhanced heat solution just what defiant was saying. i would choose the overclocked kay nindut na ug cooler daan. mostly sa overclocked nindut2x na ug stock cooler kaysa mag upgrade pa ka na mas mo dako na nuon imo gasto para sa aftermarket cooler nya di nimo magamit ang stock niya sayang.

Any would be nice, cheaper will always be better for some.

Some manufacturers like XFX sometimes use marketing scheme to lure people to buy there XFX black edition cards, like 5970 and 5870 Black Edition, which has the same coolers as the stock coolers 5970 and 5870, and isn't even factory overclocked. They also offer a "overclock tool" for black edition users, yet it doesn't even work on 64-bit version of windows, "this" xfx black edition users now use the MSI afterburner program lol, which is downloaded from MSI website and can be used by all 5000 series video cards from whichever brand.

At-least Sapphire 5870 Vapor-x is actually a different heatsink and more cooler compared to the stock heatsink but its more costly then the stock 5870 and has only slight factory overclocked. And its even more rare to find this card in our country. Yes even in TPC its not available, for all of the "TPC lovers" in this forum, who love to refer tpc as a better place to buy then our local shops.

I would just buy the stock 5870 like Sapphire's

Although some would suggest you to wait for FERMI which would be released March 02? then rumored to be release by mid-march that would come in our country by mid april to first week of may. By that time there would be a new ATI card coming out which would be the 5890.

Yet there's another card coming out by that time hopefully earlier, which is the:

15-Phase MSI Radeon HD 5870 Lightning

Boasting a GPU clock of 1000MHz, the MSI R5870 Lightning is expected to offer great overclocking performance, especially considering the fact that MSI GTX275 Lightning has already shown an impressive overclocking potential.

    also another 5870 worth waiting:
    1GHz HD 5870 from Gigabyte
