Team Conan or Team Leno?
I don't know if you guys are following this but late night talkshows in the US is serious business. Now sometime last year,
Jay (big chin) Leno decided to quit the
Tonight Show to do an experimental program at a much earlier time slot.
Conan O'Brien replaced him as the host of America's successful late night comedy. Ex-SNL
Jimmy Fallon even got his own circus replacing Conan, and some douche in the name of
Carson Daly has his own also after Fallon's. Everything was all fine and dandy right?
Well it didn't go as planned. Leno's new show sucked and had poor ratings so
NBC had no choice but to dump it's 10:00PM slot, and put him on 11:35PM instead, bumping the Tonight Show with Conan on a much later time. Conan O'Brien didn't think this was a good move as this would ruin the Tonight Show's legacy so he decided to quit. So in the end, not only 'big jaw' Leno get's his time slot back, he ends up being the Tonight Show host again.
Now I don't know bout you guys, but this just makes me hate Jay Leno even more. Not only is he not funny, I never forgave him for what he did in the early 90's when he weaseled his way of getting the Tonight Show, when it was suppose to be for
David Letterman after the great
Johnny Carson retired. Now he's screwing everybody again. The least he could do is quit when his new show didn't work, and really make way for the new talent. Wouldn't that be a classy thing to do? What do you guys think?
Either way though, Letterman get's the last laugh.
