I was just curious on how piper4ever unlocked the 4th core of his Phenom II 720 x3 so i asked him how he did it. then he replied and told me how. I was then curious what is ACC(Advanced Clock Calibration) and when i asked my friend, google (), it turned out that AMD haven't discuss anything about this. *so na curious nakog samot* then i read about this topic in another forum site then found out that the ACC's function is to unlock the hidden cores of your processor.

*Take note that not all cores will unlock successfully.

Duda nako ang purpose anang unlocked cores kay para mahalin ang mga bag.o nga mobo nga maka unlock ug hidden cores. Hala ka. Sakzpan! HAHA This is some kind of hardware hack and even mobo companies are updating their bios tungod ani. hehehe.

Not all Phenom X3 or AMD's processor can guarantee us the 4th core could be unlocked. I also been that research before kadtong nag plan pako ug buy ug phenom. Pero I was disappointed that some AMD processors for ex. Phenom II X3 was manufactured w/ defective 4th core w/c is really that you cant unlocked and some was manufactured for purpose that the 4th core was locked. Mao wala ko mo buy ug X3 instead I get the X4 kay di man gihapon ka maka guarantee maski imong mobo even has SB750 or South Bridge 750. So then for me why should I get X3 where you can get X4 instead. Its no guarantee doh...

Depende nana doh...Well good for you if you gambled things like that. Cguro you have enough money to do that. For me I need not to, since its no guarantee.

If you have the right board and chip, go ahead! unlock and crank up the frequency and post screenies. That's the fun part and nothing to lose if you manage to kill the unlocked core/cores in the process bec AMD has already condemned them. They were dud cores in the first place that is why AMD disabled them.
If you searched in this forum there was a thread like this and that dmelsie dude was able to unlock 2 cores with his Phenom II x2 (non BE) and overclocked it like no tomorrow but it showed that as the frequency gets faster the unlocked cores showed signs why it was a dud core. I think he managed to get it P95 stable at 3.5 ghz. There were certain batches reported at xtremesystems that were successful clocking them around 4 ghz but acquiring the right batch is almost impossible now otherwise someone will sell them at the used section.

if anybody wants to know, i got a 0906 batch. all 4 cores prime95(and crysis warhead) stable up to 3.7, but i backed it down a bit kay the mobo is taking a beating sa overvoltage. pagpalit nako sa pcx jones, there was one more left, 0906 batch gihapon, i bet more or less same ang potential ato sa ako napalit. pag second week of december to siya. pwede ra mutawag sa ila and mag ask unsa nag steppings sa stock nila, kon naay interested.

yours should be easier since you're dealing with only 1 dud core also why worry overvolting the board? it's the procie that you should be worried??
